Redhill FC in the Community

More than a football club

A place to belong. A place to grow. A place to call home.

At Redhill FC, football is the starting point, not the end goal.

We believe the game has the power to bring people together, build confidence, open doors and help individuals feel part of something bigger. That belief shapes everything we do in the community.

Whether you’re pulling on a pair of boots for the first time, supporting from the sidelines, volunteering your time, or simply looking for connection, there’s a place for you at Redhill FC.

Using football to open doors

Community initiatives are not side projects. They are central to who we are.

They introduce young people to football, strengthen local relationships and help ensure Redhill FC remains a club the whole town can be proud of.

Our community programmes are designed to:

  • Make football accessible

  • Support social inclusion

  • Create positive routines and friendships

  • Help people feel welcome and valued

From free training sessions to community football initiatives, we work alongside local partners to reach people who may not otherwise engage with the game or with organised sport at all.

Football becomes the common language.
Belonging follows.

A Charitable Partnership

Sharing the game beyond our community

Redhill FC believes football has the power to connect people far beyond the pitch.

For several years, Redhill FC and Redhill Youth teams have come together to collect and donate kits, boots and trainers, which are shared with children in villages across The Gambia.

Football is a huge part of daily life for these children. Many play barefoot on rocky ground, driven purely by love of the game. When donations arrive, the impact is immediate and visible.

Marianne and Serena, who run the charity Giving to the Gambia, describe villages becoming a sea of red and white as the kit is handed out. A powerful reminder of how far a small act of kindness can travel.

This partnership is only possible because of the generosity of parents, players and coaches across the Redhill community. Through their support, children thousands of miles away are able to play, belong and feel part of the Lobster family.

Schools Partnerships & Placement Programme

Creating opportunities through football

Redhill FC is a club in the community and for the community. We believe football should be accessible to everyone, especially girls and young people, as a way to stay active, build confidence and enjoy being part of a team.

As part of this commitment, we have developed strong partnerships with a growing number of local schools and clubs, working closely with teachers and staff to support girls’ football at all age groups.

Football in schools

These partnerships have been built through the dedication of our coaches, who regularly volunteer their time to deliver football sessions in schools. Sessions are focused on:

  • Enjoyment and participation

  • Confidence and self-belief

  • Skill development in a positive environment

  • Encouraging girls to stay active and engaged

Each season, more schools join our programme. A reflection of the trust built and the impact being made.

In recognition of this work, coaches and leaders within Redhill FC have received Volunteer of the Year Awards at the Reigate & Banstead Sports Awards.

Learning, experience and opportunity

Working with young people doesn’t stop at the touchline. Supporting their wider development is central to everything we do.

Redhill FC has:

  • Supported pupils completing their Duke of Edinburgh Awards

  • Created meaningful volunteering opportunities within the club

  • Recently launched a work experience placement programme in partnership with East Surrey College

This programme offers up to 30 placements at any one time, giving students hands-on experience across a range of club roles — from coaching and administration to events and operations.

A number of these placements are filled by young women, who are making a real difference within the club while gaining valuable skills, confidence and real-world experience that will support them beyond football.

A Place to Feel Included

Finding your home through football

For many people, Redhill FC becomes more than just a club.

It’s where:

  • Young players find confidence and purpose

  • Families form friendships on the sidelines

  • Volunteers discover a sense of pride and ownership

  • Supporters feel part of something shared

We see football as a way to help people find their place. A routine, a team, a group of familiar faces. A place where you’re noticed, supported and valued.

You don’t need to be the best player.
You don’t even need to play at all.
You just need to care.

The Lobster Army

More than fans. A community behind the badge.

The Lobster Army isn’t just about matchdays.

It’s travelling to away games.
Youth players cheering on the First Team.
Parents, volunteers and supporters giving their time week in, week out.

It’s the shared belief that Redhill FC matters — to the town, to its people, and to future generations.

When you’re part of the Lobster Army, you’re not standing on the outside looking in.
You’re part of the club’s story.

Get Involved

There’s more than one way to be part of Redhill FC

Community involvement comes in many forms:

  • Taking part in school or community sessions

  • Supporting on matchdays

  • Volunteering behind the scenes

  • Helping deliver events and initiatives

  • Simply turning up and being part of it

Every contribution matters. Every person counts.

If you’re looking for a club that values people as much as football, you’ve found it.
