Youth Football at Redhill FC

One club. One pathway. A place to belong.

With over 50 youth teams, Redhill FC Youth is one of the largest and fastest-growing grassroots clubs in the area. But size isn’t what defines us. It’s the sense of togetherness… the shared values… and the clear pathway from first kick to first team.

Every young Lobster is part of the wider Redhill family. Youth players walk out as matchday mascots. First team players present end-of-season awards. Coaches support the first team home and away as part of the Lobster Army.

This isn’t just football.
It’s belonging.

Our Youth Philosophy

Across all age groups, our focus is simple and consistent:

  • Technical development – confident, comfortable players on the ball

  • Personal growth – resilience, teamwork and self-belief

  • Enjoyment – because players learn best when they love the game

We want players to improve… and enjoy every step of the journey.

Where the love of football begins

For children who are not yet part of a team, Redhill FC Youth offers clear and supportive early development options. Little Lobsters provides a fun, pressure-free introduction to football for ages 2–5, focusing on movement, confidence and enjoyment. As children grow and are ready to develop more technical skills, MV Coaching’s Redhill Soccer School (ages 4–10), delivered in partnership with Redhill FC Youth, offers structured sessions centred on ball mastery, 1v1 skills and small-sided games, all in a fun, low-pressure environment.

Together, these programmes create a smooth pathway into U7 and U8 competitive teams when players are ready.

Where the love of football begins

The early years at Redhill FC Youth are all about enjoyment, confidence and curiosity.
Our U7s and U8s sessions introduce players to football in a fun, safe and supportive environment, helping them develop core skills while building friendships.

What we focus on

  • Ball mastery and coordination

  • Learning through play and small-sided games

  • Confidence, creativity and enjoyment

  • Positive behaviour and teamwork

Sessions are high-energy, inclusive and welcoming to players of all abilities — whether it’s their first experience of football or they already love the game.

Most importantly, every child leaves with a smile.

Developing confidence on and off the ball

As players move into U9s and U10s, we begin to gently layer structure onto the fun. Training focuses on developing technical ability while encouraging decision-making and creativity.

What players experience

  • Improved ball control, passing and movement

  • Game understanding through match-realistic practices

  • Encouragement to try things, make mistakes and learn

  • A strong team ethos built on respect and support

This age group is about building confidence — not results. Players are challenged, supported and encouraged to express themselves.

Building strong foundations

U11s represents an important stage in a player’s journey. At Redhill FC Youth, this is where technical foundations are strengthened and players begin to understand the game in greater depth.

Our approach

  • Technical skill development under pressure

  • Positional awareness and decision-making

  • Physical literacy and movement

  • Mental resilience and confidence

Players are supported by committed coaches who focus on long-term development — helping individuals grow within a team environment.

Preparing players for the next level

From U12s through to U16s, Redhill FC Youth provides a structured, challenging and supportive environment for players who want to improve and push themselves.

What this stage focuses on

  • Advanced technical development

  • Tactical understanding and game intelligence

  • Physical development appropriate to age

  • Mental strength, leadership and accountability

This age band also connects closely with the club’s Academy and First Team pathway, giving players clear aspiration and direction while still prioritising enjoyment and wellbeing.

Coaches work collaboratively across age groups to ensure consistency, support and opportunity.
